Reflections

General Field work reporting requirements, time log, and evaluation criteria

EVERY field work event will require a written reflective report. For example, let's say you observed a classroom teacher, went to a Board of Education meeting, attended a job fair, attended a Special Olympics event, and worked with a "Plant their Feet" event. If this field work equaled 10 hours, you would have 5 reflective reports and the reports would be included in your portfolio. Another example - you mentored or tutored a student 10 times during the semester. If these encounters totaled 10 hours, you would have 10 reflective reports (often in a journal format) and the reports would be included in your portfolio. Still another example - You participated in a special all-day event that was approved for your field work, you would write one reflective report that would be included in your electronic portfolio.

ALL reflective reports are required to include descriptions of "Who, What, When, Where, and How" and an overall SUMMARY. For example, "Who" did you see or Who was there? "What" occurred or "What" did you notice? "When" did this event occur? "Where" did the event occur? "How" did the event impact you?
